This is my first time making a tote bag all the way to the finish. Multiple times I have started and abandoned bag projects for various reasons – I decide I don’t like the fabric choice, there are so many layers to wrangle, whatever. This time I pushed through all the learning curves and love the result.
I received the Stitch and Stash Tote pattern by Knot + Thread Design as part of a holiday advent calendar. The advent calendar also included the decorative handle webbing along with an invitation to join a Sew Along starting in January 2026 with Knot + Thread. The weekly videos really helped me break this project down into steps and made it doable. I am thrilled with the result and won’t be timid about making another bag in the future.
