The Gratitude prompt for this week – Quality time I shared with a friend or family. I prioritize meaningful moments with friends and family. “Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort.” John Ruskin

It would be lovely to think that quality time was just a part of everyday busy life, but it takes effort and planning to not let it be set aside for a later time. Quality time is built in to my weekly planner so that I work on keeping connection with friend and family and develop my quality time intelligence muscles like lots of other skills. I schedule time to connect with family on a regular basis – purchasing symphony tickets for the coming season so we have something on the calendar to do together. Physical distance means we connect via phone or online. It’s fun to send a quick, casual photo as a way of just letting people know that I am thinking of them.
I also need to spend quality time with myself to work on my personal goals and values.
